Lovely column. Very well done. However, I believe most people have missed NBC's overall strategy for driving TV viewers to online viewing: beach volleyball. It's not a sport. Can you imagine a bunch of ancient Greeks watching beach volleyball? They'd laugh their togas off.

NBC is going to have a lot of explaining to do to advertisers. When I see sand I switch channels, as, I'm sure the post-Olympics data analysis will show, do millions of others.
