Who Says People Don't Respond to Long E-mail Copy? by Karen Gedney
Short copy does not make sense because if the reader is interested, she can click anywhere after the first sentence. If the reader reads down to the end of short copy and has not clicked, then the reader has no place to go. What if the reader is still interested? You have written short copy; why should I expect anything else you write to be any longer?
